Hello and Welcome to Sad and Sarcastic

Hello and Welcome to Sad and Sarcastic

First, let me say welcome, and thank you so much for taking the time to read my articles. The simple act of giving a few moments of your time to read my words brings me immense joy.

I thought it appropriate for the first article here to be a more in-depth explanation of why I created this blog — and what it means to me. When I’m able to create something that others find helpful or emotionally resonant, it gives me a deep sense of fulfillment.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer of some sort. Unsure how to make a living from it, I gravitated toward other ventures. I have no formal education in English or journalism — and that’s perfectly fine with me. I often find that articles written with a “journalistic voice” come across as bland and impersonal, much like how reporters sound on a newscast.

My dream would, in fact, be to make a living writing — ideally for a publication in the gaming industry. Cliché, I know. But it’s what I’m passionate about and what I’ve spent a major part of my life doing. My first job was at GameStop, where I stayed for almost a decade. Those were some of the best — and worst — days of my life.

Starting Sad and Sarcastic doesn’t just give me a creative outlet; it gives me a space to share my thoughts and experiences living with anxiety and depression. The thoughts and fears I have are ones others surely share, too. It’s easy to fall into the mindset that what’s happening to or around you is something only you experience. The truth is, everyone goes through shit — and you’re not alone.

That’s my goal with Sad and Sarcastic: to share those experiences and feelings in the hope that someone out there finds these articles helpful — and maybe even changes a part of their life because of it.

Thank you again for taking the time to visit. I encourage you to share your experiences and thoughts in the comments.

See you around.
